The Challenge

Losehill House is a boutique hotel and spa in the Peak District, with 22 beautifully appointed 4 star en-suite hotel rooms, a spa and a loyal following. We’ve worked with the team for more than ten years, through several generations of their website.

A hotel website is never finished. Guest expectations move on, booking habits shift to mobile, and the OTAs keep competing for the same guests. A site that looked fresh a few years ago starts to look dated against newer competitors.

For this latest redesign, Losehill needed a site that did three things: showed the property and spa at their best, made it easier to choose a room and book direct, and gave the team room to sell new products like spa days and packages online.

Our Approach

Because we know Losehill so well, we didn’t start from scratch. We refreshed the design around what we’d learned from years of booking data: which rooms sell, where guests drop off, and what persuades them to book direct.

The new site leads with photography of the house, the rooms and the spa, so it feels like the hotel from the first screen. Room pages were redesigned to make each room’s character, price and availability clear, with a direct route into the booking engine from every page.

We set up spa days and packages as bookable products alongside the rooms, so the team can launch new offers themselves without a developer. Booking tracking runs through Google Tag Manager and GA4, following every booking through to confirmation.

The website doesn’t work in isolation. We also run Losehill’s SEO, PPC and social media, so the site, the search campaigns and the social content all point guests to the same place: booking direct.

The Result

In the 12 months to October 2026, rooms and packages booked through the website rose by 21% and online booking revenue by 14%, compared with the year before.

That growth came from fewer visits, not more. Website sessions dipped slightly, but each visit was worth around 16% more in booking revenue, and more of them ended in a booking. Guests are also exploring more: room page views were up 67%.

The new spa day packages found an audience straight away, adding a new revenue stream that simply didn’t exist online before. The redesign launched in autumn 2025, and we continue to look after the site and Losehill’s wider digital marketing every month.

More than a website

Because we also manage Losehill’s SEO, PPC and social media, the site and the marketing pulling guests to it work as one. Year on year, the channels we manage grew too:

Channel Booking revenue, year on year
Paid search (PPC) +166%
Organic search (SEO) +21%

A brand-new source appeared as well: guests arriving from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, which brought in bookings for the first time this year.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

If your website no longer does your hotel justice, or too many of your bookings are going through the OTAs, we can help.

We work with independent hotels and groups across the UK, and many of our clients have been with us for years.
